McLaren number 10.000
15 Dec 2016McLaren announced a few days ago that its ten-thousandth car has been officially produced. It is a great achievement especially considering that this year McLaren Racing Limited is celebrating its fiftieth birthday while McLaren Automotive was born only in 1989.
In the last two years the manufacturer has highly increased its production to twenty cars a day, a remarkable output obtained thanks to two different work shifts which made the whole process more efficient. Even though the Supercars market forces its main members to have a limited production that can, therefore, be more exclusive, the demand has increased so much that now we are dealing with car number 10.000.
This has been possible first of all thanks to Sports Series, a vehicle category that is very much appreciated and to which the ten-thousandth car belongs. It is in fact a 570S model, the jewel of 2015 with astonishing performances. This specific car is realised in Ceramic Gray and it is meant to enlarge the firm’s Heritage Collection and, thus, it is not going to be sold.
We cannot help but wonder if every brand counts its vehicles so meticulously as long as they are produced. It might be that the possessor of the ten-thousandth Ferrari model is not even aware of his privilege.
